ফেসবুক, ভাইবারসহ বন্ধ থাকা সামাজিক যোগাযোগের মাধ্যমগুলো ‘শিগগিরই’ খুলে দেওয়া হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খাঁন কামাল। তিনি বলেছেন, দেশের আইনশৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি এখন স্বাভাবিক রয়েছে। শিগগিরই ফেসবুকসহ অন্যান্য মাধ্যম খুলে দেওয়া হবে। আজ মঙ্গলবার সচিবালয়ে সাংবাদিকদের এ কথা বলেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেন, ইন্টারনেট চালু আছে। দেশের প্রয়োজনে সাময়িকভাবে ফেসবুকসহ কয়েকটি সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম বন্ধ ছিল। বন্ধ রাখার রেজাল্ট (ফল) পাওয়া গেছে। এখন সেগুলো খুলে দেওয়া হবে। তবে কবে নাগাদ খুলে দেওয়া হবে, সে ব্যাপারে মন্ত্রী কিছু জানাননি। এ ব্যাপারে জানতে চাইলে তিনি সুনির্দিষ্ট কোনো জবাব দেননি। গত ১৮ নভেম্বর দুপুরে বাংলাদেশে বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয় ফেসবুক, ভাইবার, হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ, মেসেঞ্জারের মতো সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ও অ্যাপ্লিকেশনগুলো (অ্যাপস)। সেদিন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খাঁন কামাল জানান, নিরাপত্তা বিঘ্নিত হওয়ার আশঙ্কা থাকায় এসব সাময়িকভাবে বন্ধ করা হয়েছে। ওই দিন সকালে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের দায়ে বিএনপি নেতা সালাউদ্দিন কাদের চৌধুরী ও জামায়াত নেতা আলী আহসান মোহাম্মাদ মুজাহিদের

ফেসবুকসহ বন্ধ করে দেওয়া সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ও ইন্টারনেট অ্যাপসগুলো খুলে দেওয়ার জন্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সবুজ সংকেতের অপেক্ষায় রয়েছে বাংলাদেশ টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশন (বিটিআরসি)। সংশ্লিষ্টরা বলছেন ‘পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক’ হলে খুলে দেওয়া হবে। স্বরাষ্ট্র, টেলিযোগাযোগ মন্ত্রণালয় ও বিটিআরসির সূত্রগুলো জানিয়েছে, ফেসবুকসহ কয়েকটি মাধ্যম যেকোনো সময় খুলে দেওয়া হতে পারে। তবে কিছু কিছু অ্যাপস আরও কিছুদিন বন্ধ রাখা হতে পারে। নিরাপত্তার দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে সবকিছু স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় এলে এসব মাধ্যম খুলে দেওয়া হবে। স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় সূত্র জানায়, দেশের সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা পরিস্থিতি নিয়মিতভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ ও পর্যালোচনা করছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী। সার্বিক বিবেচনা করে পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক মনে হলে মন্ত্রণালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে টেলিযোগাযোগ মন্ত্রণালয়কে জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। ডাক ও টেলিযোগাযোগ মন্ত্রণালয়ের একটি সূত্র বলছে, নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থেই স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অনুরোধে এসব মাধ্যম সাময়িক বন্ধ করা হয়েছে। তারা যখন মনে করবে পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক, তখন তারা জানালে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এগুলো চালু করে দেওয়া হবে। বিটিআরসি

Doctors at a Dhaka hospital were treating a baby girl born with two heads on Thursday, medical officials and the newborn's father said. The baby was born late Wednesday in Brahmanbaria and is now being treated for breathing difficulties after being shifted to the intensive care unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.  "When I saw my baby, I was awestruck. She has two fully developed heads. She is eating with two mouths and breathing with two noses," her father, Jamal Mia, said. "Still, I thank Allah that she and the mother are now okay," Jamal told AFP. Abu Kawsar, owner of the Standard Hospital of Total Healthcare where the baby was born by Cesarean section, said initial tests showed she only has one set of vital organs.  "Except for having two heads, the newborn has the rest of her organs and limbs like a normal newborn," Kawsar told AFP.
